Hunting for the Next Generation

The youth of today represent the future of hunting in the USA. Since 1986 The Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club has been a part of creating and offering Youth Hunting Camps. One of the oldest Youth Hunting programs in the country, the Minnesota Youth Hunt Camp is for boys and girls, 12-16 years old. Each session begins on a Sunday afternoon and ends on Friday afternoon. The sessions are action-packed, fun, educational and exciting.

This is much more than a traditional Firearms Safety Course—this is an immersion into shooting, hunting and the great outdoors.
You’ll experience the use of shotguns, rifles, and pistols, with opportunities for both instruction and practice. You’ll learn to track, dog handle and identify various types of cover and vegetation. There will be exposure to safety ideas, techniques and practices, as well as adventure canoeing, swamp walking, tree climbing and scouting.

Towards the end of your experience, you’ll take part in a real bird hunt and learn to shoot, clean and cook the birds. Maybe most important of all, you’ll make new friends, gain confidence in your outdoor abilities and learn the respect for wildlife and nature that hunters share worldwide.

Due to our yearlong fundraising efforts, nearly all the kids attend this camp at no cost! Naturally, we encourage families who can afford to pay to do so, but no youngster will be turned away because of financial hardship. Special thanks goes out to our sponsors. Click here to see a listing.
