Now in its 23rd year, the U.S. OPEN Pheasant Championship is the largest event in tournament hunting. With over 900 entries annually, competitions take place in a variety of classes including the Professional Class, Open Class, Top Gun Class, and Puppy, Women’s, Junior, Over 50, Over 60 and Mixed Doubles Classes. The U.S. OPEN takes place at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club in Prior Lake, Minnesota, just south of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The event takes place over a four-day period beginning on a Thursday and ending on a Sunday. The event will also include the U.S. OPEN Top Dog Showdown, which will take place on the Monday following the U.S. OPEN. This event will include 6 pointing dogs and 6 flushing dogs in a one run showdown to determine the Top Dogs of the Professional Classes for 2008. The six entries will include the first and second place winners of the 2008 U.S. OPEN (if they have competed in at least four NATHA events) and the top four point getters from the entire NATHA season of 2008. The 2008 U.S. Open Pheasant Championship will be held on March 27- March 30 at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club. The Top Dog Showdown takes place on March 31, 2008. Please note, however, that these dates are subject to change. |
